Spoonerism: Crooks and nannies (London)

I used to go blackberrying as it is very therapeutic, but I couldn’t eat them all by myself, so I’d hand out one lot to my summer school students, and freeze the rest to give away in the winter as it’d be out of season and therefore a novelty.

One particular summer, there was a bumper crop and I’d collected even more than usual.  My deep freeze didn’t have any more space, no matter how I stuffed them into every available gap and corner.  So I turned up at summer school with a second lot, begging my students: “Please help me eat these, as my freezer has no more crooks and nannies left.”
