Heard an interview on BBC Radio 4’s Front Row with American comic novelist Shalom Auslander about his latest novel, Mother for Dinner, with mother being the main course. Presenter Tom Sutcliffe introduced him as “a writer who’s not afraid of bad taste”. Haha 1 on the word play here.
Sutcliffe asked him why he’d chosen cannibals for his story. The author said, “They’re a very under-represented group in the media.” Haha 2.
